Police Identify Suspect In Stabbing At Natomas Apartment

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - Police are searching for a suspect in connection with a deadly stabbing of a man at a Natomas apartment complex last night.

Just before 11 p.m. Monday, police reported to an assault call at Iron Gate Apartments on Arena Boulevard near Duckhorn Drive in Sacramento. At the scene, police found a victim who had been repeatedly stabbed multiple times in the chest. He was taken to the UC Davis Medical Center where he later died from his injuries, say police.

After interviewing multiple witnesses, detectives say they identified the suspect as 24-year-old Aaron Ramzy. Ramzy and the victim were roommates, and had reportedly got into a fight that escalated until the victim was fatally wounded.

Ramzy is described as a 24-year-old Black male, 6 feet 2 inches tall, and weighs about 160 pounds. He was last seen wearing a red, black, and white knit cap and a black and red flannel shirt. He may have left the complex on a red Schwinn bicycle. He is considered by police to be armed and dangerous.

Police searched on the ground with the help of K9 officers and in the air with their helicopter.

"I know stuff happens in life and I've seen stuff happen in life, but I'm 38 now and I haven't seen anything like this in a long time. So it's just crazy to wake up at 5 in the morning, get ready to go to work...see a thousand police outside and crime tape everywhere," said Byron Burnett, who lives at the complex.

The victim is identified as a male in his 20s.

A motive for the stabbing hasn't been released, but witnesses say Ramzy and the victim always got along.
