SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – One person is dead after a car hit a bicyclist in Sacramento and took off. Police are now asking for the public’s help to find the car involved.

The incident happened at around 6:44 p.m. on Tuesday. A man in his 40s was reportedly riding southbound on Sully Street near Marlin Spike Way when a silver two-door, 1992-2002 Cadillac Eldorado, also heading south on Sully Street, hit him and knocked him to the ground, according to a Sacramento Police Department statement.

The man suffered serious injuries and died at the scene.

Police canvassed the neighborhood and found surveillance video that captured an image of the vehicle.
