STOCKTON (CBS13) – Firefighters were called out to the Stockton Marina Monday after a boat there caught fire.

One person was on the boat named “Raccoon”, out of San Francisco, just before noon when the fire started. He was able to escape without being injured.

Tony Kabena says he was fishing nearby when it happened and called 911.

“He [the owner] was calling for help, so we just called it in,” said Tony Kubena. “It wasn’t bad until it got to the dock, then it really went up.”

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

The owner declined to comment about the fire.
