More Details Expected To Emerge Monday In Case Of Mom Accused Of Trying To Kill Daughter

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - Police plan to reveal more today about a mother who is accused of trying to kill her 7-year-old daughter.

Porche Latrice Wright is set to appear in court Monday afternoon after she reportedly doused her daughter with gas and lit her on fire.

The incident happened around 3:17 p.m. at the family's residence in the 600 block of El Camino Avenue.

Neighbor Kenneth Mecum says he was there as paramedics wheeled the girl out on a gurney in a burn bag.

"The cop told me that she burned her with gas," Mecum said.

Neighbors are in shock after hearing the news. They say they never saw it coming.

"She looked like a normal mom playing with her kid," another neighbor said.

Wright was booked it the Sacramento County Main Jail on felony charges of attempted murder and endangering the life of a child.
