Man With Machete Down His Pants Arrested After Flashing Gang Signs

MADERA (CBS13) – Police in Madera say a man was arrested after citizens reported him trying to intimidate people.

The incident happened a little before 5 p.m. Sunday, according to the Madera Police Department.

Police say someone called to report that man near 6th Street and Vineyard Avenue was intimidating and flashing gang signs at people passing by. The caller reported that the man had a tattoo on his face.

At the scene, officers confronted 22-year-old Peter Hernandez and found that he had a machete hidden down the back of his pants.

Hernandez was arrested. He has since been booked at Madera County Jail and is facing weapons violations.
