Deputies Find Muddy Suspect Hiding Under Mulberry Bush

STANISLAUS COUNTY (CBS13) — A suspect tried to hide from deputies under a mulberry bush, but was arrested, the Stanislaus County Sheriff's Department said.

After a 911 call about someone making criminal threats, deputies found Daniel Lee Bench, 47, nearby. Bench fled from deputies, and tried to hide under a muddy mulberry bush.

The department posted a photo of the muddied Bench on its Facebook page.

Deputies arrested Bench on suspicion of making criminal threats, as well as resisting arrest and a parole warrant.
