Roseville Preschool Teacher Accused Of Abusing Students

ROSEVILLE (CBS13) - A child abuse lawsuit has been filed against the Roseville School District and special education teacher Theresa Vanwagner.

The lawsuit was filed by two families of three- and four-year-old special education students and claims students with special needs were slapped, hit, had their hair pulled were pushed into furniture, and were subjected to routine verbal and emotional abuse.

Vanwagner teaches at Kaseberg Elementary and is facing three counts of child abuse. The complaint also alleges that when classroom aides would see Vanwagner hit the children, she would immediately claim it was an accident or attempt to justify the behavior.

The lawsuit names Roseville City School District, Vanwagner, the Assistant Superintendent Jerrold Jorgensen, and Preschool Program Coordinator George Rooks as defendants.
