UPDATE: Suspect In Scary Stockton Carjacking Arrested

5:10 p.m. UPDATE: Andeola was captured on Friday afternoon and is being booked in San Joaquin County Jail.

----
STOCKTON (CBS13) – Authorities have identified the man suspected of stealing a car that had a 4-year-old boy inside.

Stockton Police say 47-year-old John Manual Andeola was the man who jumped into a running car Sunday and took off. A Stockton woman was saying goodbye to her relatives and had left her son in the car.

The boy, apparently realizing what was going on, unbuckled his seat belt and jumped out to safety.

Police located the stolen car on Wednesday, but the people found inside were not linked to the carjacking.

Friday, Stockton Police identified Andeola as the suspect. He is said to be a homeless man but has ties to the Stockton area.

Anyone who sees him or knows where he might be is asked to call the Stockton Police Department at (209) 937-8377.
