VIDEO: 40-Pound Woman Suffering From Anorexia Stands For The First Time In Months

SAN DIEGO, Calif. (CBS Sacramento) -- Rachel Farrokh, a woman suffering from a severe case of anorexia, made a video asking people to donate money to help her get to a hospital in California for treatment.

After the video went viral, the Farrokh was able to move and she received treatment, according to Life & Style.

Husban Rod Edmondson, who is her full-time care provider, captured an amazing video of his 40-pound wife using a special machine to pull herself up.

She was strapped up to a harness as she held her hands on top of the machine and rose up from her chair.

This was the first time in months Farrokh had been able to stand.

"Even though she has been working daily through a lot of pain, she has kept her promise and is fighting hard. We thank you for your encouraging words," Edmondson said in a recent Facebook post.

The couple has received almost $200,000 in donations and Farrokh continues to get treatment at UC San Diego Medical Center.

Staff members at the facility will start a re-feeding process with Farrokh.

"We have a lot of work ahead of us but with the love and support we will fight this to recovery!" Edmondson said.
