3 Men Arrested In Connection With Sacramento Home Invasion Robbery, Truck Theft

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - Three people were arrested and a stolen truck was recovered in Sacramento this morning.

Around 2:40 a.m., a man living in the 2700 block of Albatross Avenue in Sacramento called 911 and said men with masks and guns came into his home and assaulted him. He says they left with his truck and trailer, said Sacramento Police Department spokesperson Lt. Steve Oliveira.

A short time later, a CHP helicopter spotted the vehicle matching the description of the stolen truck and trailer. Police caught up to the truck on Morey Avenue, about three miles away from where it was reportedly stolen. The suspects stopped the truck and ran away.

"I'm very worried about the neighborhood like this because I have grandchildren here, I have children, and this not what you want -- people running in your house," said Peter Mayhew, a neighbor.

"It's crazy...It looks like they kicked through the fence and ran through the backyard," said David Hernandez, a neighbor.

Police noticed a vehicle was following the truck, which they thought was suspicious. They detained that driver for possibly driving possibly the getaway car.

A police K-9 helped officers catch the other two suspects.

Officers found a gun that as possibly used in the incident.

Police found marijuana plants inside the victim's residence, but say the home was not being used as an illegal grow house.
