2 Young College Students Dead In Apparent Murder-Suicide
WALNUT CREEK, Calif. (AP) — Police in Northern California are investigating an apparent murder-suicide after finding a young man and a woman shot to death at a San Francisco Bay Area home.
Walnut Creek police say neighbors called 911 Tuesday morning after hearing gunshots.
KPIX-TV reports authorities identified the victims as 19-year-old college student Clare Orton, of Walnut Creek, and 21-year-old Scott Bertics, of Lafayette.
Police say two knew each other and had a previous dating relationship.
Orton had just finished her first year at San Diego State University and was home for the summer, while Bertics was attending Stanford studying engineering.
