Artist Chronicling Construction Of Golden 1 Center

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — A local artist wants to capture every moment of the construction process of the Golden 1 Center in Downtown Sacramento.

If you take a good look at the construction of the future home of the Sacramento Kings, you might see the reflection of a local artist who has made it his mission to chronicle its creation.

Wayne Edfors walks side-by-side with arena construction crews nearly every day, staying out of the way while getting up close and personal taking pictures.

"I"m trying to capture things that are only going to exist for a point in time," he said.

He peeks through and over fences and captures every angle. He then transforms his window to the world of the new arena into works of art.

We stopped him just long enough to get a look at the arena T-shirt he made and his other creations born out of bolts, steel and concrete.

With every click, he creates a perspective on a signature structure for Sacramento and beyond.

The former San Francisco Realtor likes to say he uses time and place to create art with intention and meaning.

"I look at myself as a global artist—I look at the interweb as my gallery and my domain and what I use to create and connect with people daily," he said.

And he'll keep doing that, because just like the building he's capturing frame-by-frame, this artist is in motion.

He isn't in it for the money; he donates most of his work.
