MADERA (CBS13) – Police say a man was arrested after he allegedly swiped some cookies.

The incident happened at a home along Monocott Drive Saturday afternoon. According to the Madera Police Department, 29-year-old Edgar Ceja somehow managed to get into the house and proceeded to steal a tray of cookies.

Ceja allegedly threatened the people inside with a rock before he took off.

However, the residents followed Ceja outside and were able to lead officers right to him.

Ceja, who is said to be on probation for an auto theft conviction, was arrested. The whole story, along with a photo of Ceja in handcuffs, was posted to Madera Police’s Facebook page along with the caption “What would you do for a Chips Ahoy cookie?”
