Body Found In Ceres Canal

CERES (CBS13) - A body was found in a Ceres canal on Tuesday morning.

The discovery was made at 10:30 a.m. by a Ceres resident who was riding their bicycle in the 2100 block of Hatch Road. The body, which was partially submerged in the water, is that of a male in his late 50s, according to a Ceres Police Department statement.

Police are working to determine who the man is, his cause of death and how he ended up in the canal.

The Stanislaus County Coroner's Office will conduct an autopsy.
