House Deemed Structurally Unsound After Car Crashes Into It

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – A family has been forced out of their home after a car slammed into it early Wednesday morning.

The scene is on Sea Forest Way, off of Franklin Boulevard and Valley Hi Drive.

A black sedan crashed through the house's front window just after 3:30 a.m. By the time officers arrived, the driver of the car had taken off but was later taken into custody.

Police say the house has been deemed structurally unsound due to the crash, forcing the family inside to find someone else to live for the time being. The family could be out of their home for weeks.

No one inside the home was hurt. Officers believe the driver was under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the crash.
