Hafner is accused of then hitting a car, triggering a chain-reaction involving six parked cars and three that were occupied. One person was hospitalized for minor injuries.

Hafner abandoned his car but was subsequently arrested.

Investigators are trying to determine if alcohol was a factor.

They say Hafner has an outstanding warrant in California for parole violation.
