Spencer Stone's Family Grateful UC Davis Doctors Helped Him Survive Stabbing

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — Spencer Stone was released from the hospital a week after he was stabbed multiple times in Midtown Sacramento.

Stone posed for a selfie in his hospital bed with staples running up the middle of his chest.

His brother Everett says Spencer is happy to finally be in his real bed after being stabbed four times—once in the heart, once in the left lung, once in the liver and once in the back. He said his brother essentially had to have open-heart surgery to save his life.

The stabbing came nearly two months after he helped stop a suspected terrorist attack on a Paris-bound train on Aug. 21.

The Midtown Business Association says it has raised more than $5,500 as a reward for information leading to the arrest of the suspects in the stabbing.
