4 Stabbed At UC Merced, Suspect Shot And Killed By Police

MERCED (CBS13) - Classes have been canceled for the day at UC Merced due to a stabbing on campus.

According to tweets from the school, a stabbing was reported at the Classrooms and Office Building on campus just after 8 a.m. Wednesday.

Police say the suspect was shot and killed.

School officials say four people were stabbed. They had originally reported that five people had been stabbed.

All four victims - said to be two students, a staff member and a vendor - are expected to recover.

The Provost has canceled classes for the day and students have been told not to come to campus. Campus will be closed again on Thursday.
