Teen Arrested For Allegedly Threatening To Bomb Roseville School; Makes Reference To Jihad, 9/11

ROSEVILLE (CBS13) - A 14-year-old student has been arrested after he allegedly threatened to bomb a home and a school in Roseville, say authorities.

Just after 8 a.m. Tuesday a woman says she received several phone calls from a young-sounding male who threatened to blow up her house and nearby Creekview Ranch School at 8779 Cook Riolo Road.

The woman, whose relative attends the school, says the boy knew her address and threatened "jihad" and "9/11", according to Dena Erwin, a spokesperson for the Placer County Sheriff's Department.

The woman immediately Placer County Sheriff's Department and the school where students and staff were evacuated to the playground while deputies searched the school property. They didn't find anything suspicious during the search.

Investigators determined the phone number associated with the calls belonged to an Antelope boy who attends the school. During questioning, the boy told investigators he found the woman's name and decided to prank call her.

The boy was arrested on various charges including making criminal threats, causing a disturbance on school grounds, and making a false report of a bomb.

He was booked into Placer County Juvenile Hall. His name is being withheld because he is a minor.
