Man, 25, Found Shot Dead At Carmichael Apartment Complex

CARMICHAEL (CBS13) - Authorities are investigating after a man was found shot to death in Carmichael late Saturday night.

The scene was along the 2800 block of Walnut Avenue at the Walnut Wood Apartments. Deputies say they were called to the scene a little after 11 p.m. Saturday due to a reported fight and a possible victim.

Once at the scene, deputies discovered that a 25-year-old man had been shot. Medics who also responded to the scene pronounced the man dead.

Witnesses told deputies that they had heard a scuffle near the man's apartment, then heard a gunshot.

Two men were seen running from the apartment complex just after the shooting, witnesses say. A suspect car was also seen leaving the complex and out towards Walnut Avenue.

The man's identity has not been released.
