Father Of The Bride Goes Missing After Wedding At Grand Island Mansion

WALNUT GROVE (CBS13) – A brand new bride's wedding celebration has turned to worry.

An all-out search has started for the father of bride, who went missing from the even on the Delta. He's now been missing for more than 24 hours.

Prasad Moparti was smiling in the last family picture he took before he mysteriously vanished. But Durga Moparti says her father seemed unhappy after arriving from India.

"It sounded like he was a little depressed and he wanted to go back to India," Durga said.

Rajesh Gutta says his father in law wanted to go for a walk after the wedding ceremony.

"For the last few days he's a little bit … I'm not sure what the reasons, but he's not doing well," Gutta said.

It was a huge party at the historic Grand Island Mansion.

But when it was time to leave to the Bay Area, Prasad Moparti was nowhere to be found.

"Maybe he had a little bit of an unconscious feeling or maybe some kind of dizziness or something," Durga said.

Neighbors say they last saw Prasad walking toward the bridge Saturday afternoon. Sunday night, rescuers were searching in and around the delta.

As Sacramento County Sheriff's Department dive crews scoured the water, K9's and officers were on the ground – relatives not far behind.

"If anybody knows, please let us know," Prasad's brother said.

For now, any post-wedding plans are on hold as this family prays for their father's safe return.

"My dad missing is the only thing going on in my head right now, nothing else," Durga said.
