GRANITE BAY (CBS13) — A Granite Bay doctor is facing serious allegations in a complaint that outlines the alleged groping of three female patients.

The 10-page complaint also says Dr. Syed Zaidi failed a psychiatric evaluation and he’s suffering from a mental illness that’s affecting his ability to practice medicine safely.

CBS13 checked the address for Zaidi on file with The Medical Board of California, where a man answered the door and never came back.Records show the 2009 Toyota Highlander parked in the driveway is registered to Zaidi.

Neighbors wouldn’t go on camera, but say the geriatric medicine specialist is an intensely private man they rarely see.

He’s also the subject of a 10-page complaint from the attorney general’s office that accuses him of inappropriate sexual behavior with three female patients.

In April 2013, it says a 25-year-old woman was told to undress and put on a paper gown to examine her back after going to the doctor for a skin condition on her foot. The patient claimed Zaidi “cupped her naked buttocks … moving his hands up and down three to four times” and squeezed her breasts.

In 2009, a 49-year-old patient claimed Zaidi “put his fingers across both her left and right nipples and listened to her cough with his stethoscope.”

In February 2013, a 35-year-old woman complained the doctor performed a pelvic exam after requesting a refill of her thyroid medication. She claims she was ordered to remove her gown before he “raised her arm over her head and twirled her like a dancer.”

A doctor who conducted a psychiatric evaluation of Zaidi in December 2014 wrote, “I believe Dr. Zaidi’s sexual paraphilia, combined with his personality disorder, render him a danger to patients, especially as it relates to adult females who may be future victims of inappropriate sexual behavior under the guise of medical examination.”
