California Highway Patrol says the 37-year-old woman was driving south when she crossed over into the northbound lane, slamming head-on into a car being driven by 68-year-old Gold Beach, Oregon resident James L. Schwab.

The impact sent the woman’s car to be thrown towards the frontage road. She suffered fatal injuries in the crash, CHP says.
