MADERA (CBS13) – Police say an alleged thief’s disguise didn’t get him too far.

The City of Madera Police Department says a man apparently dressed as a woman to get into a CVS store on March 19 he had been banned from. He was even pushing around a stroller, as surveillance video shows.

A sharp-eyed employee wasn’t fooled, thought, and identified the suspicious person as habitual thief Joseph Marshall.

The employee saw Marshall stuff some merchandise into the stroller, police say, and then confronted him as he tried to walk out of the store. Marshall allegedly pulled out a large screwdriver and threatened the employee then got away.

Saturday, detectives arrested Marshall. He is facing robbery and drug possession charges.
