Jon Jones arrested for violating probation

UFC star Jon Jones was arrested Tuesday for violating the terms of his probation. Jones was cited for drag racing in New Mexico earlier this week.

Jones denies that he was drag racing as you can see in the video here.

All of this matters because Jones was sentenced to probation last September when he was involved in a hit-and-run case. This probation helped him avoid jail time but it meant he couldn't get in trouble with the law in any way.

The agency that represents Jones released a statement.

"Jon and his team are taking this very seriously and we will let the legal process play out," EAG Sports said. "We are confident he will be released once he has an opportunity to explain to the judge the facts in this case."

Hopefully for Jones this turns out to be nothing. Remember that Jones was already suspended and stripped of the UFC title in April. If he gets in trouble at all, maybe the UFC will have to suspend him again.
