The front runner for the Sacramento Kings’ head coaching job is none other than Dave Joerger. According to Adrian Wojnarowski, the Sacramento Kings are “progressing rapidly in discussions” with Joerger.
The former coach of the Memphis Grizzlies had a meeting with Vice President of Basketball Operations, Vlade Divac, on Sunday to talk about the position. It appears the conversation went very well.
Joerger will now meet with owner Vivek Ranadive on Monday. Signalizing that a final deal is within hand. League sources informed Wojnarowski that the deal could include a three-year contract with $4 million a year.
Joerger spent three years in Memphis as the head coach. He had a record of 147-99 and 9-13 in the playoffs.
