Police Investigating Homicide After Concert In Discovery Park

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) -- Police are investigating an assault that turned deadly on Sunday afternoon after a sold-out concert in Discovery Park.

Video from the scene shows detectives investigating in a taped off area by police.

Sacramento police tell CBS13 the victim is a 31-year-old man and that he was involved in an altercation that led to the assault and was seriously injured.

The man was immediately transported by ambulance and a few hours later died from his injuries. Police are still following up on leads and say the suspect fled the area.  A motive was not immediately known and police are still trying to notify family and follow up on leads.

Over 15,000 people were at the park for an all-day concert event.
