GRASS VALLEY (CBS13) — A plane hit another plane at the Nevada County Airport on Tuesday, sending a pilot to the hospital.

The smaller plane was coming in for a landing and clipped a medium-sized private plane as it came in. The plane caught fire in the crash, injuring the pilot of the smaller plane.

The pilot was flown from the scene by air ambulance.

The smaller plane is based out of Nevada County while the larger plane is based out of Southern California.

The Federal Aviation Administration said it was not aware of the incident.
