SAN BERNARDINO (CBS) – A cat’s meow saved her life in Southern California.

A man and his wife say they were driving near San Bernardino and about to get on the freeway in when they heard something coming from their engine.

When they stopped at a car shop, an employee pulled a tiny kitten out from under their hood.

“It was crazy when we first saw her underneath there and running around,” David Pilgrim said.

The kitten was healthy but dehydrated.

The family decided to adopt it and call her “Valvoline” after the car shop that helped save her.
