Roseville Police Searching for Shooter in Loomis

PLACER COUNTY (CBS13) -- Roseville  police officers and Placer County Sheriff's deputies are currently searching the area of Horseshoe Bar Road near Val Verde Road and Rancho Verde Lane for a suspect in a domestic violence-related shooting.

The suspect is Gerardo Romero, age 43 of Roseville. He is an Hispanic male, about 5'8" tall and 150 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a black hat, black t-shirt and dark blue shorts, with low socks and athletic shoes. He may be armed.

At 2:50 p.m. today, Roseville officers responded to a domestic-violence related shooting in a home in the 500 block of Dudley Drive. The suspect, identified as Gerardo Romero, had already fled. A 43-year-old woman in the home suffered gunshot wounds, and was taken to the hospital, where she is currently being treated for her injuries. Her condition is unknown at this time.

Romero fled to an associate's home on Horseshoe Bar Road in Loomis. When Roseville and PCSO units arrived, Romero was in front of the house and fled on foot. PCSO Special Enforcement Team is en route. A large perimeter is set-up at roughly Horseshoe Bar and Val Verde Roads and Rancho Verde Lane.
Romero may be armed. All residents in the immediate area are advised to stay indoors. If anyone sees Romero, call 911 immediately.
