RIO LINDA (CBS13) – A family of eight is without a home after a fire in Rio Linda early Friday morning.

It happened just after 4 a.m. at a home on West Fourth Street.

The fire is out but crews are still on scene.

The family was home at the time, but everyone got out safely.

Firefighters believe the blaze started in the back bedroom and worked its way to the front of the house.

The cause of the fire is under investigation and the Red Cross is working with the family to find a place to stay and get some basic essentials.
