Fairfield Police Seize, Weapon, Cash Drugs in Traffic Stop
FAIRFIELD (CBS13) -- A Traffic stop resulted in the recovery of a stolen firearm and seizure of a perception opioid pill for sale.
A unit patrolling the area near a hotel on Central Way around 12:23 Friday morning when it made consensual contact with the operator of a stationary vehicle in the hotel parking lot.
The officer identified probable cause to search the vehicle based on a strong marijuana odor and found the firearm, which had been stolen from its owner in Martinez.
Suspect Vanning Johnson, a 20-year-old male out of Suisun City, was arrested for his possession of the stolen gun, along with the illegal substance and intent to sell.
The weapon itself has not been connected to any crimes in the area.
