2-Vehicle Crash Ends With Car Inside Hospital

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - A vehicle was hit from behind and crashed through the entrance of a Sacramento hospital on Monday night.

The incident happened at Heritage Oaks Mental Hospital on Auburn Boulevard. Nearby, a truck flipped onto its side and came to rest against a tree.

The driver tells CBS13 they were exiting Interstate 80 when they heard the sound of brakes screeching behind them. That's when their rental car was hit from behind by a pickup truck pushed through the front glass doors of the hospital.

A security guard says he was sitting in the hospital lobby when he saw the lights approaching and got out of the way of the car just in time.

The driver of the truck was taken to the hospital with a police escort. It's unknown if drugs or alcohol was a factor in the crash.

None one was seriously injured.
