Developer Plans On Bringing High-End Shopping To Natomas

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – It's a high-end shopping center concept that's proven popular in the city of Roseville.

A developer is diving into The Fountains at Roseville's success and drawing up plans to bring a similar experience to Natomas.

"The goal of this project is to be a couple notches nicer than most of the retail [in Natomas]," said developer Ethan Conrad.

A Sacramento-based developer, Conrad is proposing the Natomas Fountains plan that would take an empty lot near Gateway Park Boulevard and Truxel Road and bring in new retail with a little dazzle.

"Wanted to do something that was a little different, a little nicer," Conrad said.

Here are some of the early plans: The Natomas Fountains development will be half the size of The Fountains at Roseville and include one anchor store and up to six restaurants.

Natomas business owner Danielle Marshall says The Fountains will be a welcome addition here.

"It's gonna be new, it's gonna be a completely different buzz. So I think that just the fact that it's new and different is what makes it so exciting," Marshall said.

It's a high-end concept that's become a success in Roseville. Now, Natomas plans to repeat it.

The Sacramento Planning Commission votes on the Natomas plans on Thursday. If passed, ground breaking would be early next year.
