A reported sighting of the vehicle on Monday evening prompted a search in Sierra County that didn’t turn up the vehicle. The next morning, a Sierra County Sheriff’s deputy saw the car on Highway 49 heading toward Downieville, but that officer lost sight of the vehicle—the vehicle was spotted at around 6:40 a.m., but sunrise wasn’t until 7:26 a.m. in the area.
