Man Accused Of Exposing Himself At Sacramento Park

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - Police arrest a man suspected of exposing himself to people at a local park.

The Greenhaven neighborhood has been on edge for the the last month knowing a suspected flasher is targeting victims as Seymour Park.

"It's shocking that it's right here in the neighborhood," said Marilyn Peterson who lives nearby.

After a second incident of a man exposing himself to a mother and child, police were able to nab the man and they didn't have to go far.

"Oh for heavens sakes. We saw the five police cars," Peterson recounted seeing them Thursday.

Police made the arrest right across the street from the park with a view of the playground. 36-year-old Matthew Ong was charged with indecent exposure and annoying a child.

It has left an unsettling feeling for moms with their kids.

"You need to be watching out for people in the community," said Andrea McDonnell who frequents the park.

"I don't like that. It's terrible. It's nasty. It's gross," said another park goer, Victor Garcia.

Neighbors said Detectives spent hours searching the home they said belongs to Ong's mother.

Unsure of what investigators found, people who live around the park are glad Ong is off their street and hoping the park will be peaceful again.

This is part of an ongoing investigation and police won't say if he is the suspect in other cases reported in the Land Park area.

He also refused to speak with us from jail.
