3 People, 1 Dog Rescued From Rising Waters On American River

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - Fire crews rescued three people and one dog Thursday who became trapped on an island on the American River.

The rescue happened just above the Howe Avenue Boat Ramp in Sacramento and was caused by rising waters from increased flows from Nimbus Dam.

Those fishing or camping along the river are being asked to get to higher ground.

Earlier in the week, crews rescued fishermen who were stranded by rising waters.
