Cosumnes River Near Wilton Predicted To Flood Overnight, Residents Urged To Evacuate

WILTON (CBS13) - Authorities are alerting residents near Wilton to consider evacuating now due to rising flood waters.

The National Weather Service is forecasting that the Cosumnes River will rise high enough to overtop its south bank overnight into Wednesday.

According to their predictions, NWS says the Cosumnes River may crest about 2 feet above flood stage.

NWS says that, in the past, homes near Wilton were flooded by these levels.

A evacuation center is being reopened for any affected Wilton residents at the Elk Grove Pavilion at 7 p.m.
