Officer Buys Groceries, Toys For Mother Struggling With Two Crying Children

KENNESAW, Georgia (WGCL) -- A Kennesaw Police officer is being hailed as a hero after he came to the rescue of a mother who was struggling with her two children.

Madison Gail Obrien posted a picture and description of the situation on Facebook, showing the officer performing his amazing deed. Obrien says she saw the mother struggling with her two children, both crying as they were about to enter the grocery store.

The officer then asks the mother if he can help, walking her and her children into the store.

Obrien says she kept watching the mother and saw her patiently explain to her son why they couldn't buy a toy he was asking for. Obrien says she and a friend she was with were about to approach the woman to see if they could buy her son the toy but the officer walked up and bought it himself.

He then proceeded to buy the groceries she had in her cart.
