Woman Dies After Being Hit By Car On El Camino Avenue

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — A woman was struck and killed while crossing the street in Sacramento.

The accident happened around 6 p.m. on Thursday at El Camino Avenue and Bell Street.

The California Highway Patrol says a Honda Civic was traveling about 40 mph through a green light when it struck the woman in the crosswalk.

The woman died from her injuries.

The driver remained at the scene.

Authorities do not believe alcohol was a factor in the collision.
