One Civilian Injured In El Dorado County House Fire, 1 Acre Of Wild Land Burned
RESCUE (CBS13) - 4:30 p.m. UPDATE: One adult male civilian sustained minor injuries from the fire, according to El Dorado Hills Fire public information officer Marshall Cox.
Cox said the fire originated as a two-story residential structure fire that spread into the wildland around the home. According to firefighters, the home was 70 percent involved when crews arrived on the scene. Both fires were contained before 4 p.m. and the wildland fire burned approximately one acre.
In addition to the initial residence, a trailer next to the home and four vehicles caught fire.
PG&E was also on the scene and shut off power for the neighborhood, preventing the power lines overhead from dropping and causing another fire.
Cox said approximately 70 firefighters including aircraft assisted in this incident.
Agencies included El Dorado Hills Fire, Rescue Fire, Diamond Springs Fire, Georgetown Fire, El Dorado County Fire, and Cal Fire.
3:15 p.m. UPDATE: El Dorado Hills Fire says the structure fire and wildland fire are contained.
Two homes were evacuated to the north of the fire, and firefighters said the Red Cross is on the scene.
PG&E is restoring power to the neighborhood as well.
2:30 p.m. UPDATE: Several agencies are responding to a residential structure fire in the El Dorado County community of Rescue early Wednesday afternoon.
The scene is on Sierra Vista Road.
Flames could be seen engulfing the home. Cal Fire, along with crews from Rescue, El Dorado County and Diamond Springs are helping in the incident.
Authorities are asking people to avoid the area if possible.
