WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump will travel to California on Saturday to meet with victims of the deadly wildfires that have scorched the state.

The White House announced Thursday that it is still arranging details of his trip to California, but that visit people who have been impacted by the fires.

The fires in Northern and Southern California started last week and prompted the evacuation of hundreds of thousands of people and the destruction of thousands of homes.

At least 56 people were killed in and nearby the Northern California town of Paradise, which was leveled by the fire.

Two people were killed by the Southern California fire and a third death in that fire zone is under investigation as possibly linked to the fire.

  1. Trump is just asking for it… isn’t he?

    1. Eileen Kephart-Maxey says:

Yes he is, and he’ll get it come re-election time, God willing.

  2. Susan Blum Baker says:

Tell him not to bother, we have better things to do than to listen to his insincere “thoughts and prayers”. Threatening us, demonstrating his ignorance and lack of decorum. Tell him to stay home, have a super sized Big Mac and fries, and choke on them.

    1. Eileen Kephart-Maxey says:

Amen, Ms. Baker. Believe me, millions of people feel the same way.

It amazes me that some people are so consumed with their hatred of the man that they cannot understand a truly caring gesture by the President. Pitiful really.

    1. Eileen Kephart-Maxey says:

You’re kidding, right?? A truly caring gesture by the President? More like a ploy to get people to vote him into a 2nd term, God forbid. As of today, 11/18, thousands of people still have not been approved by your “president” for disaster aid. Pitiful, really.
