Police Block Off Traffic Downtown Due Construction At Historic Hotel Marshall

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — Police blocked off traffic in Downtown Sacramento Tuesday night due to structural concerns on a building under construction.

Traffic was blocked on L Street from 8th-6th Street and 7th Street from J-L Street.

Sacramento Fire officials said the Old Hotel Marshall has been under renovation for almost a year and has started a controlled demolition on the interior of the building. The demo has been underway and is scheduled to be completed sometime tomorrow, according to firefighters.

Captain Norm Leong with the Sacramento Police Department said the closures will likely be in place for Wednesday morning's commute.
