Man, 72, Suspected In Reno Homicide Arrested In Sacramento

RENO, Nev. (AP) - A 72-year-old suspect in a Reno homicide in February has been arrested in California and returned to Nevada to face a murder charge.

Reno police said Friday Ralph Goad was arrested in Sacramento with the help of U.S. marshals. He was extradited to Reno and booked into the Washoe County Jail on suspicion of open murder with a deadly weapon.

Police says he's accused of killing 76-year-old Theodore Gibson on Feb. 13.

Detectives say Gibson was found dead inside his apartment at 33 Park Street in Reno. They soon identified Goad as a suspect but he already had fled to California.

Goad was being held Friday in the county jail without bail. It's not clear if he has a lawyer or will be appointed one when's scheduled to make his initial court appearance on Monday.
