Firefighters Contain 20 Acre Grass Fire In West Sacramento

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — Firefighters battled a two-alarm vegetation fire in West Sacramento near Stonegate Drive and Village Parkway Wednesday afternoon.

Firefighters said the grass fire spread about 20 acres but did not affect any structures.

A herd of goats in the area was evacuated to safety. West Sacramento firefighters said the goats were already in the area to help thin the grass to prevent fires like the one that broke out Wednesday.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
