14 Buildings Destroyed In Shasta County Mountain Fire; Evacuation Orders Remain In Place

SHASTA COUNTY (CBS13) – The latest on the Mountain Fire in Sutter County, northeast of Redding:

9:38 p.m.

Cal Fire says the Mountain Fire is now 50% contained the acreage stands at 600.

According to Cal Fire, two minor injuries have been reported in this fire. Both injured parties were treated and released. It's not clear if the injured people were firefighters or civilians.

The number of structures destroyed has doubled to 14, seven residential and seven outbuilding structures. Cal Fire said six other structures were damaged.

Mandatory evacuations are still in effect for Bear Mountain Rd. at Dry Creek Rd., Bear Mountain Rd. and all roads off of Jennifer Lane, and Squaw Grass Trail at Dry Creek Rd.

10:46 a.m. 

Cal Fire says a total of seven building have been destroyed — three residential and four outbuilding structures.

7:38 a.m.

Cal Fire says containment on the Mountain Fire has jumped up to 40 percent Friday morning.

Acreage still stands at 600, the number it hit in just a few hours after starting on Thursday.

Evacuations and road closures remain in place, Cal Fire says.

At least one home has been destroyed and 3,885 people have been evacuated.

The fire is burning off Highway 299, near Bear Mountain and Dry Creek roads, north of the community of Bella Vista.
