Briceburg Fire In Mariposa County 100% Contained

MARIPOSA COUNTY (CBS13) — More than two weeks after it ignited, the Briceburg Fire in Mariposa County is 100% contained.

The fire off Highway 140 and Briceburg Bridge, north of Midpines, on the afternoon of Oct. 6. According to Cal Fire, it burned more than 5,500 acres and was active for 16 days.

One structure was destroyed.

Cal Fire said Highway 140 is now open, but smoke will still be visible within the fire boundaries for up to several weeks.
