El Dorado Hills Shopping Center Hit By Thieves Again

EL DORADO COUNTY (CBS13) — Authorities are searching for a suspect who burglarized an El Dorado Hills restaurant on Wednesday.

Surveillance footage at Taqueria El Dorado on Park Drive captured the suspect breaking into the restaurant and then a back-office inside of the business.

Miriam Sanchez works at the local taco shop involved in the latest break in. She said there's fear among the business that these thieves could strike again.

"I think he knew what he was doing," said Sanchez. "He leaves through the back door like it was his house."

EDSO Detective Morton is looking for assistance in identifying this person. This video is from a business in El Dorado Hills yesterday morning. It is believed that this person has been involved in a couple business burglaries recently and we are hoping someone may know who he is. The only information we currently have on this person's vehicle is that we believe it to be a sedan. If you have any information which can assist us, please send us a message or call Detective Morton at (530) 642-4722.

The El Dorado County Sheriff's Office is asking the public for help in identifying the individual, who they say is believed to be involved in other recent business burglaries.

The sheriff's office says the only information they have on the suspect's vehicle is that they believe it is a sedan.

Anyone with information relevant to the case is asked to contact Detective Morton at 530-642-4722.

A similar incident happened at the same area in early-January when two suspects — a man and a woman — broke into a business and left in a white Jeep, authorities said.

"There's nothing here for these individuals to take. We don't understand why they keep coming back," said Steve Brown, owner of the Beach Hut Deli in the same shopping center. His business was one of the two hit last month.

No arrest was made in the January incident.

It is unclear if the two incidents are connected at this time.
