Antelope Fire Burns 102 Acres In Tahoe National Forest In Sierra County

SIERRA COUNTY (CBS13) – A vegetation fire in the Tahoe National Forest burned about 102 acres on Monday, authorities say.

As of Tuesday afternoon, the fire was 100% contained.

The fire burned north of Flippini Road, north of the community of Sierraville.

Exactly what caused the fire is unclear.

Crews from the U.S. Forest Service, Cal Fire and Placer County helped in the fire fight.

Part of Highway 49 was on one-way traffic control in the area due to the fire. The road re-opened around 8:50 p.m. Monday.
