2 People Dead After Wrong-Way Driver Crashes Into Other Car On I-5 In Sacramento

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — Two people were killed in a wrong-way crash near the Sacramento International Airport early Friday morning.

The incident happened just after 12:30 a.m. along the southbound side of Interstate 5 just south of Powerline Road.

California Highway Patrol says a driver in a Subaru was heading in the wrong direction when they crashed into an oncoming Honda.

The driver of the Honda, James Raymond Fristoe, 60, and the driver of the Subaru, a 49-year-old man from Sonoma, were both pronounced dead at the scene, officers say.

A 56-year-old female passenger in the Honda was also rushed to the hospital with serious injuries.

The identities of the woman and other driver were not yet released.
